I had such a great response to my last months’ favorites post on social media, I couldn’t wait to share my November list! As the holidays get closer, I’m always looking for ways to save time or save my sanity. The kids are going stir-crazy with the colder weather setting in, and preschool only two days a week, I might be going a little crazy too! I’ll do anything for a few minutes of quiet, even if it means letting the kids get messy. I’m a bit of a control freak, I’m not usually that way- I rarely let the kids stomp in rain puddles in their rain gear. I need to work on that…
Melissa and Doug paint supplies
We are an M&D family (Melissa and Doug for those who aren’t familiar). Their toys have held up over years of abuse, and their paint kits would keep the kids occupied for hours if I didn’t have white painted walls and a fear of stained laundry! However, pair these three items with a painter’s smock and a drop cloth, and I can breathe and focus on my work for a few minutes at least while they work quietly!
Our 4 year old loves to hang her artwork all over the house. This makes her happy, and I get stuff done! Double win!

I’m not huge on perfumes or scents, but sometimes I need something a little light to calm me throughout the day. This roll-on is perfect. The scent isn’t too strong, and it helped me feel so much better through this cold season! It’s easy to pack away in my purse for on-the-go, and it’s the perfect stocking stuffer too! (hint, hint!)
That’s it. Wool socks. I buy them every time I see them, and I’ve even knitted a couple of pairs. The MINUTE the weather turns, they are the only thing I wear, all. day. long. Every day.
Sunbeam Electric Heated Throw
With fall comes cold breezes, overnight lows, and sweaters, boots, flannel, and fleece! One way I stay warm at night (even with flannel sheets, sleeping in sweats and wool socks, and a heavy blanket, I end up freezing!) is to curl up with one of these! This isn’t your old, polyester, rough textured and faded electric blankets from your childhood, they now come in fleece, micro-plush, sherpa/mink and other yummy fabrics, and in all sizes. I can now stay warm without turning our thermostat up to 90° in the winter (although sometimes I wish I could!) No more cold nights!
DIY air fresheners
I recently posted a recipe to create this HERE, but I just had to add it to my list of favorites for November! With all the cooking going on in our home (for family dinners, No-Spend November efforts to use what we have, and recipe testings for Thanksgiving), the residual scents are nothing short of “needs attention”! You know, garlic, onions, Brussel sprouts, meats, Italian dishes.. they all add up! My recipe quickly clears the air and is a great way to enjoy your space!
November, to us, is all about being thankful for what we have and enjoying each other’s company. The comforts of home are at the top of my list! What are you thankful for?
